ECCC Dongguan Office established

On August 2^nd, the unveiling ceremony of the Member Service Department of the Secretariat of the Electronic Cigarette Professional Committee of the China Electronic Commerce Association (Dongguan) was successfully held. This event aims to build an efficient and smooth communication platform between the government and enterprises, and between enterprises for Dongguan electronic cigarette companies, better guide Dongguan electronic cigarette companies to operate in accordance with laws and regulations, and promote the development of electronic cigarette industry clusters in Shenzhen and Dongguan.

Yao Jide, Chairman of the Electronic Cigarette Committee, delivered an opening speech, thanking the Dongguan Municipal Government, the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and other departments at all levels for their attention and support to the electronic cigarette industry. He said that the official operation of the Dongguan Member Service Department will serve Dongguan’s electronic cigarette companies more accurately, promptly solve the problems, difficulties and demands encountered by companies in their development, lead companies to actively explore the international market, and make greater contributions to promoting the healthy and prosperous development of Dongguan’s electronic cigarette industry!

Chairman Yao Jide pointed out that in the current context of the industry facing phased adjustments, e-cigarette companies should do a better job of operating in compliance, strengthen industry self-discipline, and prevent “involutionary” vicious competition; they should adjust their strategic deployment in a timely manner according to their own operating conditions, enhance risk prevention awareness, effectively avoid overseas account recovery risks, and ensure sufficient cash flow; at the same time, they should also maintain strategic determination, strengthen confidence in development, strengthen internal training, and calmly explore the international market.

At the event, Ao Weinuo, Secretary General of the Electronic Cigarette Committee, introduced to the participants the work of the committee, the development plan of Dongguan office and the latest trends in the global electronic cigarette industry. He said that in the face of the general trend of strengthening global supervision, Dongguan office will invite overseas authoritative experts from time to time to share overseas laws and regulations and market information with member companies, help member companies improve and adapt to supervision capabilities; strengthen business training for member companies in key areas such as air transportation and dangerous goods rules, and enhance companies’ risk prevention awareness; provide member companies with overseas unfair competition protection, intellectual property protection and other services to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of member companies in the international market.

Afterwards, Secretary-General Ao Weinuo shared in detail the latest trends in the global e-cigarette industry. He said that although the industry is facing regulatory pressure, the global e-cigarette market continues to grow, and the e-cigarette industry is still a sunrise industry. We must be full of confidence in the future; China’s e-cigarette industry has the most complete and most advantageous supply chain in the world. During the difficult times in the industry, everyone should work together for development and smooth transition, firmly defend the “chain leader” status of Chinese e-cigarette companies in the global e-cigarette industry chain, and jointly promote the healthy and sustainable development of the industry.

At present, nearly 90% of the country’s licensed e-cigarette companies are concentrated in Shenzhen and Dongguan. Dongguan is adjacent to Shenzhen, and the two places have convenient transportation and complementary advantages. Based on the good foundation, good conditions and good momentum of the development of Shenzhen and Dongguan, the establishment of the Dongguan office will surely play a positive role and inject strong impetus into the development of the e-cigarette industry clusters in Shenzhen and Dongguan. I believe that with the care and support of the Dongguan Municipal Government and relevant departments, e-cigarette entrepreneurs will strengthen their confidence in development and deepen exchanges and cooperation.
